Arrivals from non-red list countries when fully vaccinated

If you have been vaccinated under an approved programme in the UK, Europe, US or UK vaccine programme overseas, at least 14 days before you arrive in England, you need to book and pay for a day 2 Covid-19 test to be taken after arrival; complete your passenger locator form; take a Covid-19 test on or before day 2 after you arrive in England. From 4 October there is no longer a need to also take a pre-departure test or a day 8 test. The rules for fully vaccinated people also apply if you are under 18 and resident in the UK or in one of the listed countries or territories with approved vaccination programmes; or if you are taking part in an approved Covid-19 vaccine trial in the UK or USA.

What type of Test is EdgCARE offering?

EdgCARE is offering the Covid-19 PCR swab test in collaboration with our accredited partner laboratory.

How is the test performed?

You attend our Covid-19 testing centre in Edgware, North West London and meet one of our doctors whereupon you will be given a self-swab pack to perform a throat and nose swab.

How much does it cost?

The cost for a Covid-19 Day 2 PCR swab test for "Fully Vaccinated Arrivals" is £100 per person (Standard Test, Next Day Results). The Express Test with Same Day results costs £140.

What information will I need to provide?

The Department of Health and Social Care has specified particular information that we need to collect from everyone who has a Day 2 test. Without this information we will not be able to go ahead with your swab test. If you are intending to book with us you can get ahead of the game and complete our Day 2 International Arrivals Registration Form

You will also need to send in prior to your appointment proof that you have been fully vaccinated by emailing a document from a national or state-level public health body that includes as a minimum: your forename and surname, date of birth, vaccine brand and manufacturer, date of vaccination for each dose, country or territory of vaccination and/or certificate issuer.

How Long will my Result take?

We are typically seeing next day results. You will receive your result via SMS and email messages as soon as they are ready. We have a dedicated admin team who take pride in trying to get you your results as quickly as possible. You do not need to quarantine while waiting for your result.

Arrivals from non-red list countries when not fully vaccinated

If you are not fully vaccinated, before you travel to England you must:

  • take a Covid-19 test
  • book and pay for a day 2 and day 8 Covid-19 test - to be taken after arrival in England
  • complete a passenger locator form

On arrival in England you must:

  • quarantine at home or in the place you are staying for 10 days
  • take a COVID-19 test on or before day 2 and on or after day 8

You may be able to end quarantine early if you pay for a private COVID-19 test through the Test to Release scheme. EdgCARE is able to offer you all the required tests including the optional Day 5 Test to Release test.

How much does it cost?

The Day 2 PCR swab costs £100 (Standard for Next Day Results) and the Day 8 swab costs £100 (Standard for Next Day Results).

Test to Release PCR swabs cost £100 for our standard next day result (Standard), or £140 if you want a same day result (Express).

Countries subject to bans on travel to the UK

Regardless of vaccination status, this testing is not available to anyone who has been in or through any of the countries on the Red List. If you arrive in England and have been somewhere that is on the red list during the last 10 days, you must book a Managed Quarantine Facility package. These measures are in place in order to prevent the spread of new strains of coronavirus into the UK and you are legally excluded from seeking to shorten your self-isolation period.
