Covid-19 Swab Tests
EdgCARE - Private Community Doctors are pleased to announce that we are working with our accredited partner laboratory to provide Covid-19 swab testing. The Covid-19 swab test aims to detect the presence of viral genetic material via a throat and nose swab. This test is suitable if you are presently experiencing any of the symptoms of Covid-19 or you believe you may have had contact with someone else who has Covid-19.

Yes. Together with our partner laboratory we ensure that Public Health England are informed of a new Covid-19 case confirmed via a swab test.
Your results will arrive by email. Our current turnaround time is within 72hrs of the test being taken. In extenuating circumstances, where there is excessive pressure on the laboratory, this can be longer. We post updates on our Twitter feed on the home page of our website if results are taking longer to come through.

“Home Visit” testing: £275
One of our GP team will attend your house, wearing full protective equipment, and administer the nose and throat swabs for you. We will then arrange for transport of the samples directly to the laboratory.
